Ace & Mayo Episode 2: The Storm

When last we left our heroes, they had set off to discover the whereabouts of the missing Koikonnen diamond, and perhaps to recover it.  Having overheard a promising lead, but one which the town guard were unwilling to pursue, Roulette “Ace” Diaz and Mason “Mayo” Hashbrowns headed to the docks of Titan’s Gate to see to the lead on their own.  We rejoin them there, where they’ve brokered passage on a ship called The Mirador, captained by one Pete Geivoda, a former crew mate of Mayo’s. With the crew bustling to prepare the ship, Mayo takes the opportunity to scour the docks for loose coin and Ace asks the captain about his crew.

Captain Pete calls his top officers to the deck to meet Ace, and they assemble.  “My First Mate, Cecile, you’ve met already,” says Pete, indicating the black-and-bronze dragon woman. Next, he points to an extravagantly dressed halfling man. “This is Mr. Greggor Brigidson, cook and morale officer.” Just then, a young half-elf woman lands light-footed on the deck. Not skipping a beat, the captain introduces her. “Ms. Amy Wang, navigations and lookout; she may be young, but she’s capable.” Finally he points to an impatient-looking dwarf woman with giant darkened goggles and soot wiped across her brow. “This is Officer Beatriz, Daughter of Freya, munitions and demolitions,” the captain says.

FRaP Episode 4: Looting & Leveling

When last we left our heroes, they had just fought through spider swarms and kobolds and confronted Maximus, the alehouse drake mastermind behind a plot to destroy The Dog & Duck Inn.

After taking a moment to consider the possibilities, Rashida Gnomes and Felina the Cat decide to investigate the now dead villain’s lair to see what treasures can be collected.  Brother Erno Viranen, the temple acolyte chaperone assigned to our band of adventurers, elects to join the rogue and ranger, and Pip the Mighty Squeak reluctantly follows his companions.

Ace & Mayo Episode 1: The Beginning

Roulette “Ace” Diaz’s relationship with the cops is a little complicated. She’s arrested frequently enough that she is known to many of the officers of the peace in the port town of Titan’s Gate which she calls home. Because of the familiarity, however, she’s sometimes asked for information about local happenings, and has earned the trust of many of the guard.

Most recently—about a month ago—the authorities asked the young Ace to investigate the disappearance of the Koikonnen Diamond, a well-known pale blue diamond most recently in the posession of the Baron Drake Jacobs’ family. It was reported stolen from the home by Baron Jacobs’ wife, the Baroness Chimène (shi-MEN) Jacobs. But little news has turned up on the streets of the town, and the guard are losing hope in light of the high turnaround of seedy sailors that come in on the busy dock day and night.

FRaP Episode 3: The Dungeon & the Dragon

When last we left our heroes, Felina the Cat and Rashida Gnomes were returning to The Dog & Duck Inn with a goblin prisoner named Farks while Brother Erno Viranen raced back to Tammilanti to resuscitate Pip the Mighty Squeak, who had been killed by the now-defeated Gari Truugsh.  After a tense, but ultimately successful resurrection, Pip and Erno find rest for the evening at the Temple of Sjailo (pronounced SHY-low), and we turn our attention back to the ranger and rogue.

FRaP Episode 2: Gari & the Gang

We rejoin our heroes as they await the arrival of a guard to help them watch the goblin they captured in the recent scuffle in the cool cellar of The Dog & Duck Inn a couple hours outside of the city of Tammilanti. The party was sent to investigate after complaints of goblin incursions from the owner, “Tipsy” Hypsi Mattila, as a municipal service to earn their freedom. Escorted by an acolyte of the temple of Sjailo, Brother Erno Viranen, the party have learned that the goblins are not random criminals of opportunity, but that they are organized and coordinated by a “big boss”—a creature named Gari Truugsh.

FRaP Episode 1: The Dog & Duck

Brother Erno leads Felina, Rashida, and Pip to The Dog & Duck Inn

It’s a cheery, crisp sort of Saturday outside the Tammilanti District 58 guardhouse.  The kind of day you’d grill burgers on.  But inside the guardhouse, the chief is dealing with two very unusual criminals on what would otherwise be a slow, pleasant day.

The first is a wandering halfling “luchador” that the guard picked up after he caused a drunken ruckus at The Dog & Duck Inn a couple miles outside of town.  Though the guard aren’t normally involved with that inn, it being so far outside the beaten path, two of the guards assigned to the 58 happened to be there receiving an unrelated complaint from the innkeeper at the time and were able to minimize the damage to the place, though it took both of them to restrain the halfling, even in his drunken state.  This is Pip the Mighty Squeak, a former entertainer now wandering, seeking purpose or employment, or maybe just a new start.

The other, still more unusual detainee is a cat.  You read correctly, the guard apprehended a cat.  This is no ordinary cat, however: This one talks and wields daggers—quite proficiently, given how difficult it must be without opposable thumbs—and claims to be the product of a witch’s spell.  Her name is just Felina (apparently self-selected), and unfortunately for her, there is no real protocol for stray animals of unusual intelligence, and it’s likely the guard will be forced by the law to turn her over to local animal control to be put down.

Just as the chief is about to start the piles of paperwork on these two, however, the door bursts open and in walks an important-looking, if slightly short gnome bearing the heraldry of the Gnoble House of Gnomes.  This is Rashida, and, unbeknownst to the guard (but knownst now to us), she is Felina’s best friend.
